Our main philanthropy is the Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Our Annual 5K Run for Ronald is a fundraising event for RMH. It is usually held in the spring. Local athletes and other student organizations participate.

Every December on the last Sunday before finals, we host our Annual Sister/Alum Christmas Tea and Philanthropy Project. All local alumnae, advisors, and current sisters spend some quality time together and also take the opportunity to participate in our philanthropy projects, which for the past couple of years has been providing Christmas gifts to a needy family in the North Alabama area. We just held our 12th Annual Tea in December 2008.

Just before Halloween, we visit neighborhoods collecting canned goods and cleaning supplies to take to RMH. We notify the neighborhoods in advance of what night we plan to visit.

We are constantly collecting pop tabs for RMH. Ronald McDonald Houses work with local recycling centers to receive money for collecting tabs from aluminum cans - including those from soda cans, vegetable and soup cans, and pet food cans.

To date, more than 400 million pop tabs have been collected, generating more than $4 million.

We make at least two trips down to the Ronald McDonald House in Birmingham, AL, to deliver canned good and pop tabs, bake cookies, or clean the facilities. We also support Ronald McDonald House Charities, as well as local charities.
